Another family ran estate with a long historic tradition – Tenuta di Capezzana is located in the historic Carmignano appellation, where wine has been produced since Etruscan times.
The Contini Bonacossi family (today siblings Filippo, Benedetta and Beatrice) traces its winemaking lineage at the estate back 12 centuries. Their property is 670 hectares, of which appr. 100 are under vine.
Capezzana Barco Reale di Carmignano is one of those wines that under promises, over delivers.
Tasting notes:
Dark ruby wine with a typical earthy aroma of great European wines. You can smell dark red cherries with a hint of menthol. Perfectly balanced fruitiness of Sangiovese with fine tannins of Cabernet gives you a pleasant composition that can be drank right now but will age well for another 8 – 10 years.
Dry – Off dry – Medium sweet – Sweet
Light – Medium – Full body
No oak – Aged in oak
